This will be the first of several books about women, aging and our cultures destructive obsession with perfection. As a show or a book, the viewer will read their story and gain an understanding of the individual and as they view the image an even greater understanding takes place - one builds upon the other - perfect synergy.

That is the whole idea, perfection is an unattainable illusion. Being able to see the genuine beauty in yourself and each other is what really matters.

Never- I repeat Never! If you are concerned about being recognized we can protect your identity by a turned head or a well placed shadow. None of the individuals in this project know each other's identity unless they were friends before and did this together - this has happened several times. Many of the original participants were well known in our community so faces / identities can always be hidden in shadow or some other technique.

No, this is a project where the individual creates the story and then we collaborate on how the image will be created to work writhing the story line. Most of the photography books that has been done to this point are simply portraying an individual of a certain age or body shape. This project is much much more complex.. and interactive. If I have done my job properly I will be nothing more than the vehicle helping you express your vision.

For the first session it is strongly encouraged, you may bring a friend to every other session if you choose.. We live is a very messed up world and trust, especially in these circumstances is something that needs to be earned. The only caveat is that the friend or friends should be female - women act differently when a husband or boy friend is present.

Every woman can withdraw her images up to the time that she signs the release. If the images to do speak to her truth or she just doesn't want to be a part of the project then we can begin anew or she can withdraw and her images and they will be destroyed.

Only with the photos that they pick from the session. Because I only shoot medium format film and the process has been going on for almost 10 years my investment has been considerable to this point.

First of all this is a celebration of the human form, a step toward changing the way people perceive body type and aging and how that affects women's bodies. The photographs show these women as beautiful and desirable.

Secondly it takes a great deal of courage to be a part of this project.. the baring of these bodies speaks to the commitment that these women have to help bring about this much needed change.

The story is the beginning, middle and end of this project.. There will be several discussions about the process and your vision before we actually create the photographs.

The important questions that led us to introspection may be: What do you want to say? How do you feel about being you at this point in time? How do we create an image that speaks to your story or statement.

As this discovery progress the story can and has changed.. For some the first discussions are the beginning of the process of introspection and that process changes the person, the story and thus images. Some of the stories have changed after the first photo shoot and because the goal is the pursuit of truth. that is much better than the right thing to do. Many of you do not feel that you are capable of writing the story- there are people to help with this... One of the written pieces is "Fertility is a state of Mind" while some are much more involved.
